The main distinction between “coaching” and “therapy” is that Coaching focuses on moving a person from point A to point B through a thought-provoking process of creating a vision for the future, setting goals for success, identifying present strengths and weaknesses to learn about oneself and find areas of improvement and development.

On the other hand, psychotherapy looks to diagnose deep-seated emotional issues so they can begin a process of healing with individuals experiencing some level of dysfunction or disorder.
